Success for Boys Mini Sevens Team

24th Sep 2024

Yesterday afternoon the boys mini sevens team were competing in the mini sevens area competition in Manorhamilton. In the draw they played Glenfarne and Diffreen. Their first match was against Glenfarne, at half time the boys were comfortably winning by 15 points. In the second half Glenfarne scored 2 points but it wasn’t enough to beat the boys, the final score was 3-13 to 0-2. The second game was against Diffreen, traditionally they are a very good team and this was the case when the boys played them, at half time the score was 2-2 to 1-0, both teams put up a great performance in the second half but Diffreen couldn’t claw back and the final score was 3-4 to 1-1 meaning Four Masters got into the final.

In the final they played Manorhamilton, a notoriously good team. In the first half Four Masters started strong with a goal and 1 point. The second half started and Manorhamilton won the throw up and scored a point followed by 4 more. Angus came off very frustrated so Mr. Gallagher gave him a plan and put him back on, right after he came on he got the ball, ran the pitch and passed the ball to Cillian, he shot but the keeper deflected it and Cillian tapped it in. Manorhamilton kept fighting and scored a point but it wasn’t enough and the boys won 3-2 to 0-9.
