Last Wednesday, some of the boys in 5th and 6th class went to Manorhamilton to play soccer. There were two teams from the school.The weather was horrific,but despite the difficult conditions spirits were high with the Four Masters boys.
The first game the B team played was St. Clare’s A team, St. Clare’s were a lot better from the start, scoring goal after goal. 4-0 St. Clare’s FT. The next game was against Annaduff A team, the second game went a lot like the first but Annaduff missed a good few chances. 3-0 Annaduff FT. The last game was against Drumlise B team, we were in control with Jonathan scoring a goal and Drumlise scoring an own goal. 2-0 Four Masters FT.
The first match that the A team played was against St. Clare’s B team, it was a very level match that went over and back for the whole game until in the last 10 seconds we went on the attack and Simon just slipped it bottom corner. 1-0 Four Masters FT. The next game was against Drumlise B team, from the start we were a lot better, scoring 8 goals that game, goals from Riain, Áinle, Ruben and Jack. 8-0 Four Masters FT. Our third game was against Annaduff A team, the game was level until Annaduff scored from a corner early on, a few minutes later Áinle fired a shot to the bottom corner to equalise. 1-1 FT. That draw meant that we had to play a playoff against Annaduff. The game was very fast paced and there were chances for both teams but we got a free kick and Riain gave the ball to Fionn G who tapped it in bottom corner. 1-0 Four Masters. We had won the league and are now through to a county final.
