First Class participated in the Blue star flag project this year. The project is co-ordinated by Mrs. Rooney in Fourth class. Fifth class also participated in the program. We really enjoyed learning about the European Union. We did projects on France. We learned about France and we had a visit from Eloise McGinty who is from France but now lives in Kinlough. Eloise told us about life in France and taught us a few French words. Thank you to Eloise!
We learned about the artist Van Gogh and we painted our own ‘Sunflower’ pictures.
On 12th May, European Day, we created our own display with objects, souvenirs and pictures from France.We made headbands representing the 27 EU countries. We enjoyed listening to Mr. Frank Feighan T.D. and we asked him some questions about his work and about the E.U. We really enjoyed participating in the EU Blue-star flag project.
