The children in 5th and 6th class played in three chess championships on Thursday the 30th of March. The children opted into one of three Chess championships. The Chess Premier League(for expert chess players) ,The Chess Championship (for intermediate players) or Chess Division one (For children new to the game) . There were approximately 400 hundred games of chess played over the afternoon and there was some great focus and skill showed by the players involved.
Ion and Bogdan were the finalists for the Premiership. Ion won after a tightly contested final. Niall and Maikie were the finalists in the Chess championship and Maikie won after some serious moves were played. The chess Division 1 final was played out between Peter and Daniel ,with Daniel taking the win on the day.
